A cleverly designed dialectic desktop! With this laminated surface and large work area, students are able to complete a Quid et Quo exercise with dry-erase, fine-tip markers using the helpful, analytical task references. Your students are sure to clamor for more sentences to parse! Also included are additional memory work items, such as verb anatomy and the 112 Simple Sentences. This is a companion piece to Trivium Tables- English Grammar.

How it works:

Its four panels unfold to create a large, flat work surface. Students write each word of a sentence across the top of the chart and circle the sentence’s structure, purpose, and pattern from the choices provided. There is a row of spaces for the student to label each word in the sentence. The student can fold back the right panel to reveal a question and answer flowchart to help them identify the role of each word. After each word is labeled, the student can identify more attributes of each word using the choices on the left of the chart. Each section is color-coded to refer to the English Grammar Trivium Table for ease in looking up the necessary information. Finally, the student diagrams the sentence in the large area provided. If help is needed, they can fold back the left panel to reveal diagramming details and tips. The back panels provide more information and examples of sentence patterns plus an example of a verb conjugated in all twelve tenses.

These will become very useful as students work with increasingly difficult sentences. This piece will become a springboard for discussion and discovery as students and parents work together on English grammar.

Folds to 8 x 10.5 in. to fit in your notebook.
