Answers for Kids -Curriculum Set -- The Answers for Kids Bible Curriculum combines three popular illustrated "kits" (Beginnings, Seven C's of History, and Questions) into an all-in-one 30-lesson course designed to greatly strengthen the biblical foundations of children's lives. Use this for your Bible AND science curriculum.
Perfect for Sunday school, homeschool, Bible clubs, Christian school, or family devotions, this dynamic curriculum gives children a solid understanding of biblical history and helps them to boldly share and defend the truth of the gospel.
This book contains the entire curriculum kit -

One set of thirty easy-to-remove Student Handouts that reinforce the lessons, while providing fun activities for children.
Four colorful information charts that reinforce the major teaching points.
A Teacher Resource DVD-ROM with exciting PowerPointT illustrations and printable worksheets that enhance the lessons.
A fun Song CD with 10 songs by real-life adventurer/singer, Buddy Davis.
Lindley's Note - I "discovered" this resource after reading the book Already Gone - a book that describes why so many youth/young adults that were raised in the church do not return to the faith after they leave home. One of the answers to this dilemma was to change how we're instructing our kids in Sunday School and at home. Our kids need real reasons (scientific proof!) of Genesis. For if they can't believe Genesis chapters 1 - 11 100%, how can they hold fast to the rest of the Bible? As a children's church teacher I recognized that I was guilty of saving facts/academics for M-F school days, and leaving those out of the lessons on Sunday. So.... I tracked this down. Now I see that not only is this wonderful for our children's church, but the extended activities bring this into a curriculum perfect for homeschooling. You can do this as your science and Bible for a whole year. Each lesson, with the extra's, is at least a weeks worth of study. You (the teacher) will need internet access as the teacher guide draws a lot of information on the answersforgenesis.org website. I also recommend the tip to set up a timeline around your house. You'll be glad you did....

Thinking Like a Christian
Student Journal -- Surveys reveal that a majority of Christian young people walk away from Christ after four years of a university education. Why? Because they are not prepared to defend their faith in a world that, in most cases, presents ideas contrary to their biblical beliefs. This 12-week curriculum takes students on a journey into the world of ideas that are shaping our culture while teaching them biblical responses. The Student Journal is consumable.
Paperback, 208 pages, High School - Adult
This book will help your student apply what they are learning in their real life and is considered supplemental. After teaching this course, I (Lindley)say it is required...
Thinking Like a Christian Set -- Contains these two titles:
Thinking Like a Christian Teaching Text Book (includes a CD that is very important!)
Thinking Like a Christian Student Journal
The Student Journal is consumable. The CD within the Teaching Textbook contains lesson plans, handouts, and other useful pages for your students.

The Text Book with CD (Leader's Guide) features three independent lesson plans for Home School, Group settings, and College level. Included are discussion ideas, skits, interactive segments and reproducible handouts. Lindley's note: Since I have taught this in our home school, here are some tips:
You can't teach this without the Leader's Guide and the included CD
Make sure each student has a copy of the Student Journal and put it in a 2 inch binder with pockets
Print out the Handouts for each chapter that is included on the Leader's Guide CD Rom
If you're teaching more than one, have at least a ream of paper available, and make sure your black ink cartridge is full
This will take at least 30 minutes for each lesson
There are plenty of activities and suggestions to expound even further
Designed as a 12-week study, I suggest only doing this 3 times per week since high schoolers are so busy!
The lesson plans for each week contain 5 parts, so this would actually take you almost 19 or 20 weeks to complete
Younger students can relate to the activities very well, so you can include the whole family
This course will require the parent to plan an active role. I made up my own Student Journal notebook and took the course right along with my 11th grader.

Velvet Elvis -- God never changes, nor do the central truths of Christianity. But our
understanding of those truths is in constant flux. Christians will
always be exploring and discovering what it means to live in harmony
with God and each other. We
know there's something more. We sense it, we feel it, and we want it.
But how do we find it-a spirituality that stands up to the questions of
an honest, searching mind? "This book is for those who need a
fresh take on Jesus and what it means for us to live the kind of life he
teaches us to live," writes Rob Bell. "This pursuit of Jesus is leading
us backward as much as forward . I am learning that what seems brand
new is often just the discovery of something that has been there all
along- it just got lost somewhere and it needs to be picked up, dusted
off, and reclaimed." "We
have to test everything," writes Bell. "Do that to this book. Don't
swallow it uncritically. Think about it. Wrestle with it. Just because
I'm a Christian and I'm trying to articulate a Christian worldview
doesn't mean I've got it nailed. I'm contributing to the discussion. God
has spoken, and the rest is commentary, right?"
Vintage Jesus: Timeless Answers to Timely Questions -- This popular-level theology book introduces the person and work of
Christ to those who are seeking answers to some of their most basic-and
pivotal-questions.
Some two thousand years after he walked the
earth, Jesus Christ is still a hot topic. And for all the ridiculous,
twisted, DaVinci Code-esque conspiracy theories and lies about Jesus
that have permeated popular culture and even the academy over the years,
the truth about his character, nature, and work has not changed. So what
exactly is the truth about Jesus Christ?
That's the question the
authors of Vintage Jesus seek to answer by breaking it down into a number
of sub-questions about Jesus, including Is Jesus the only God? Why did
Jesus come to earth? Did Jesus rise from death? Why should we worship
Jesus? and others. Non-believers and new Christians looking to sit down
and delve into the topic of Jesus, asking the toughest, most confounding
questions they can think of, will find solid, biblical answers presented
in a relevant, accessible way.
What We Believe Set -- Our children are bombarded on a daily basis with competing messages.
Every song, movie, book, TV show, blog, and game is full of ideas-ideas
about truth, morality, beauty, identity, faith, and more. Not all of
these ideas are true. Some are wrong, some are deceptive, and some are
outright destructive. It is more important than ever that young children
be equipped to discern among competing ideas and stand in the truth. The "What We Believe" Series is an outstanding way to teach your child
the essential beliefs of the Christian faith, but it's so much more!
With this student-directed, Bible-based curriculum, your children will
learn how to use Scripture as a lens through which to view the world
around them-to see everything the way God sees it-and know the truth.
This set includes both books from the What We Believe Series-
Who Is God? And Can I Really Know Him?
Who Am I? And What Am I Doing Here?
Who Am I? And What Am I Doing Here? -- Our children are bombarded on a daily basis with
competing messages. Every song, movie, book, TV show, blog, and game is
full of ideas-ideas about truth, morality, beauty, identity, faith, and
more. Not all of these ideas are true. Some are wrong, some are
deceptive, and some are outright destructive. It is more important than
ever that young children be equipped to discern among competing ideas
and stand in the truth. And it begins with us - the parents - to know
what we believe ourselves! The second book in the What We Believe series, Who Am I? (And What Am I Doing Here?) helps children understand what it means to be fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of the Most High God. This study will enable students to develop a healthy self-image based on these biblical truths: God made me in His image and crowned me with glory; He has given me special gifts and a unique purpose in life; I can creatively express God's love; I am meant to think about beautiful and praiseworthy things, especially God and His Word; I must make decisions based on God's truth; I can always know the wise thing to do; I must cultivate the fruit of the Spirit in my life; I am a beloved child of God whose true identity is found in Christ.Hard cover, full color, 256 pages - from Apologia Educational Ministries and Summit Ministries. Who Is God and Can I Really Know Him? -- Our children are bombarded on a daily basis with competing messages. Every song, movie, book, TV show, blog, and game is full of ideas-ideas about truth, morality, beauty, identity, faith, and more. Not all of these ideas are true. Some are wrong, some are deceptive, and some are outright destructive. It is more important than ever that young children be equipped to discern among competing ideas and stand in the truth. And it begins with us - the parents - to know what we believe ourselves! Who is God and Can I Really Know Him?, introduces the concept of
worldview while laying the foundational truths upon which the
evangelical Christian worldview is built: God is truth and He reveals
His truth to people; He is the one true and almighty God; He is the
Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; He created everything;
we are God's children and are made to love and to praise Him; God meets
all our needs; sin keeps us from God; and Jesus is the only way to God. Designed for ages 6 - 14, this resource is perfect for the homeschool family, complete with comprehension questions that will evoke discussions to help all family members develop that solid foundation of truth. Who Is My Neighbor? And Why Does He Need Me? -- Our children are bombarded on a daily basis with competing messages. Every song, movie, book, TV show, blog, and game is full of ideas-ideas about truth, morality, beauty, identity, faith, and more. Not all of these ideas are true. children understand what it means to be salt and light to the world
(Matthew 5:13-14). This study will encourage kids to develop a
Christlike servant attitude based on these biblical truths: God created

This book was brought to my attention nearly 6 years ago when our first son attended a wonderful Christian camp. Since then, our other two children each have purchased their own copy. As I am now studying Thinking Like a Christian with my youngest son, I realize first-hand the value of this reference tool. Every Christian high schooler and college student should have one. - Lindley
