• Simple, yet clever 1" dia. by 3" long plastic device to demonstrate the vortex effect of a tornado. Partially fill with water one of the two half-gallon size plastic soda bottles which you supply. Screw the bottles into opposite ends of the tube which we supply.
• Tip so the full bottle is on top and give it a circular starting whirl. Presto! You have a vortex. Call it a tornado if you're a meteorologist, a Charybdis if you're a classicist, or a whirlpool if you're into oceanography.
• Lots of fun and a fine opportunity to attempt to explain the effects of the earth's rotation on water draining out of a bathtub. The phenomena are related we're told, but good luck!!

Although this is produced by Bob Jones University, we found that this is a great "dissection documentary" that will go along with ANY biology course. Test Tube Rack, Wooden -- This wooden stand includes six drying pegs and six 24mm diameter holes. This product may come in natural wood or with a dark finish, depending on supply availability. Both are attactive and functional.

Test Tubes with caps, Plastic (Set of 6) -- These test or culture tubes are made of opaque plastic with a blue leak-proof cap. The tubes are marked with 0.5 ml graduations and have a 15 ml capacity. Tubes are approximately 120 mm tall x 16 mm OD with 15 mm inside diameter. Not for use in open flame. Note: Test tube style and cap style may vary slightly from photo.
